Danny Heptinstall works for the Joint Nature Conservation Committee and provides expert advice to the Governments of the UK on the development and implementation of international nature conservation law. Specialising in ornithological matters, Danny provides advice in regards to the Birds Directive, the African-Eurasian Waterbird Agreement and the Raptor MoU. A life-long birder, as a teenager Danny was a volunteer raptor surveyor for the Yorkshire Dales Upland Bird Study Group. He subsequently undertook a (as yet unfinished!) PhD on Red Kite dispersal ecology. He has also worked on raptor conservation projects in Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece and Sweden.
