FCS serves as the forestry directorate for the Scottish Government. It balances the interests of afforestation and forest management with the conservation of natural and cultural heritage in promoting and regulating forestry and woodland expansion to deliver the Scottish Government’s Forestry Strategy.
FCS carry out, promote and facilitate monitoring and provide relevant data for raptors on the NFE, involving FCS staff and by encouraging volunteers. FCS also provide expertise and perspectives on the conservation and management of raptors in forest environments.
