JNCC (Joint Nature Conservation Committee)

JNCC is the statutory adviser to Government on UK and international nature conservation, delivering the UK and international responsibilities of the Council for Nature Conservation and the Countryside, Natural Resources Wales, Natural England and Scottish Natural Heritage. JNCC’s work contributes to maintaining and enriching biological diversity, conserving geological features and sustaining natural systems.  A fundamental element of this task is to ensure that appropriate and adequate data are available on all the relevant species through facilitating, or contributing to, dedicated monitoring initiatives.
