SRSG (Scottish Raptor Study Group)
The SRSG branches were formed in the 1980s when groups of committed volunteer raptor surveyors formed regional groups to coordinate fieldwork for national surveys of Golden Eagle and Peregrine Falcon. These groups provided a forum for exchange of information on survey techniques and began to collect and collate valuable long-term datasets for raptors. The SRSG has extensive fieldwork expertise and knowledge of raptors, provides comprehensive cover of many raptor species, uses a formal network of several hundred fieldworkers, and liaises with local interests.
Scottish Raptor Study Group members provide the vast majority of the data collected annually in Scotland on raptor numbers, distribution and productivity.
