Infrequently, and always in close collaboration with the main data contributors, SRMS data have been used in scientific studies on, for example, the effects of persecution, wind farms, inter-specific interactions and land-use patterns (e.g. forestry and agriculture) on individual raptor species. We hope that in the future SRMS contributors and partners will make more use of SRMS data for research and publications, to further increase scientific knowledge of raptors in Scotland. The better the evidence base, the more effectively conservation management can be carried out.
